Omega-3 Prenatal DHA Test
The Omega Prenatal DHA Test is designed to help expecting mothers monitor their omega-3 DHA level in order to support a full-term pregnancy and reduce their risk of pre-term birth. Early preterm birth happens before 34 weeks of gestation.
Measures: The level of DHA (docosahexaenoic acid) in a mother’s blood.
If the blood spot analyses and Omega Score (% age of total fatty acids present as EPA plus DHA) indicate a “risk zone” for preterm birth, increased intakes of EPA/DHA from food sources and/or via supplementation can readily restore the “Omega Score” status to the “low risk” category within a short time period. Earlier testing (1st trimester) is suggested so as to ensure entry into the “low risk” zone earlier rather than later and to maintain such thereafter.

Research from clinical trials has shown that higher intakes of long-chain omega-3 fatty acids (as EPA plus DHA) from food, and/or supplements reduce the risk of early preterm births:
– Supporting full-term pregnancy
– A baby’s growth and development
– Mother’s postpartum health
The OmegaScore® report is not intended as a medical report or medical advice. It is solely a measurement and calculation of various fatty acids based on the samples provided. “Risk Levels” are intended as a reference for measurement compared to recent academic research studies. Please consult a licensed wellness professional regarding your results or for advice on any dietary changes and/or supplementation that may be required.
