The Early Bird Gets the Worm
Several studies have correlated waking up early with success. Which is why many successful people get an early start to their days- they’re onto something! However, make sure to get enough sleep the night before.
Smile! Today’s another day and opportunity to do all the things you can and want to do.
You don’t have to take a long walk. Just pop outside to your front porch, backyard, deck, balcony- whatever you have and enjoy your time just being outdoors. Studies have shown that people who have been exposed to the moderately bright light in the mornings had lower BMI’s (Body Mass Index) regardless of their dieting and exercise habits.
Before you check your Instagram head to the kitchen and drink some water. It does so many great things for you such as: kickstarting your metabolism, rehydrates you after sleeping for so long, flushes out toxins and so much more! However, if you are not a fan of plain H2O you can drink warm lemon water which really helps to flush out toxins or green tea which is a healthy alternative to your morning coffee.
Breakfast is the most important meal of the day so it’s a must to incorporate within your morning routine. You are literally “breaking” your “fast” since you have been asleep for a while.
Eat Before Working Out
This one is quite simple. Try to fit in 30 minutes of exercise per day (if work out in the morning, the rest of the day is free to do whatever you want). However, eat or drink something with protein such as spirulina so you do not feel sluggish and super hungry after you work out. Also, eat within an hour of waking up because the longer you wait, the harder it is to feel satisfied.
Here you can go for a walk, do some cardio, pop in a fitness DVD or watch some free workout videos on YouTube. As well you can stretch or do yoga- the point is to just move! However, if you prefer to workout later on in the day then you can try meditating in the morning to help get you grounded for your day ahead.
Shower [Either Cold or Warm]
It helps wake you up even more and gets you squeaky clean. But, it also has numerous other benefits such as decrease your stress levels, improve your blood circulation and increase immunity. You may also do dry brushing prior to taking your shower for an even added boost in benefits.
Make this a part of your everyday morning routine. Just visualize and focus on your success.
Map Out Your Day
Now here is the time to check your computer, email, social media, phone and just plan out your day. Make a to-list and prioritize what needs to be done TODAY and only TODAY. Do not make a list for tomorrow because then you will subconsciously start to put things off.
